Often it is the most unexpected turn which can change the course of one’s life.
Sequoia was happy and fulfilled working as an Artist Facilitator at the Maximum Security Prison at Soledad, California. Serving a very challenging role in a serious and demanding institution, there could be no doubt that her life had reached a pinnacle of Service and Meaning. But, then, God had other plans.
On a warm spring day in 1997, a woman, eyes closed, floating in a pool at Paraiso Hot Springs drifted into Sequoia’s lap as she was reading Coming Home, by Bradshaw. This woman turned out to be a well known clairvoyant. She took one look at a startled Sequoia and with tears in her eyes and cried out, “Oh my God, You have no idea who you are! You are connected to Mother Mary.” As more tears poured down her face “you are a powerful Healer!” Sequoia had no idea who this woman was and, at first she thought this woman was crazy. But, the more she talked, the more something deep inside resonated for Sequoia along with the truth of what she was saying. Soon they were standing outside of the pool and the woman continued, “Usually Spirit tells me to ask permission, but He is telling me to do it now, to open the Power of your hands.” She asked Sequoia to open her hands and she did. In a Sacred Instant in a very simple Ceremony, the Healing Gift for which Sequoia has become known was activated. Her head spinning from Grace Manifest, as she drove home with her husband Jack, they knew that their lives had turned a rare corner and that life will never again, be the same.
For several years after, Sequoia studied the established and ancient traditions, gaining knowledge and experience through Ceremony, Books, Workshops and Sacred Initiations. All of this inquiry led her to trust less and less in the systems and more and more in the Living Source which Works through her. In the Spring of 1999 she and Jack were led to the land which has become known as Three Trees. In the fall of 2002 Sequoia left the prison work behind to devote herself completely as a servant of this Healing Power. In 2003 she worked with John of God, the great Healer from Brazil and brought back the Crystal Bed of the Casa Dom Inacio to aid in the healing of the People.
This is a woman who was known as a bright girl born in Los Angeles in 1954, raised in the San Fernando Valley she became an artist and an advocate for the disenfranchised. Now, her life is devoted to serving through Profound Prayer, acting as a Channel for Divine Love. She is proof that life is only a process where Grace, in the end, holds all the cards and that our own plans are only valid to the point that our plans mirror the Plans of the One who placed us here.
